The leafs are manufactured of stainless steel plates, which have a low friction coefficient, and are in permanent contact with the ridding band segment. The seal also comprises of one intermediate ceramic layer that dissipates the temperature and one spring steel plate with thermo-mechanical properties that act as a spring to maintain the pressure during the seal’s operation.
The seals designed by Motofrenos work keeping under control the kiln operation temperature and the access of false/cool air, which increase the consumption of Kilocalories per pound of produced clinker.
Kilns Seal - Piece Description (Typical)
All seals are “Taylor-made” to the specific kiln and/or rotary dryer. All dimensions are verified on site by an engineer before designing and delivering the parts. Motofrenos will provide the customers with a video and detailed instruction for the seals installation. Further, a technician from Motofrenos will supervise the proper seal’s installation.
Motofrenos has the logistic in place to expedite custom manufactured small and large orders of Composite Seal Plates, based on drawings or samples supplied by the customer.
